Itinerary
Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 7:00am and drive to Gubeikou Great Wall. The 150km drive takes about 2 and half hours. Gubeikou was a strategic pass of the Great Wall in ancient times, offfering an important access to Inner Mongolia and northeast of China. The main part of the Gubeikou Wall was first built in the Ming Dynasty 1368, and composed of two main sections - Panlongshan Great Wall (The Coiled Dragon Mountain Great Wall) and Wohushan Great Wall(The Crouching Tiger Mountain Great Wall). You are arranged to hike Panlongshan Great Wall, nicknamed after the name of the mountain on which it lies - Panlongshan Mountain. Panlongshan Great Wall is mostly unrestored, oroginal, less tourist and one of the most beautuful sections of the Wall around Beijing. The hike up and down (no cable car ) takes you approxi 2 hours.

After lunch, head to
Jinshanling Great Wall. Arriving at Jinshanling Great Wall, go up on
the east section of Jinshanling Great Wall for a 2-hour hike. The Jinshanling Great Wall was first constructed built in the Ming Dynasty. The famous general, Xu Da, of the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) supervised and directed the construction of the Great Wall. Later, Qi Jiguang led a number of defense works while guarding the north area in 1567. Each tower has its unique feature and look. There are relatively less crowded here at Jinshanling Great Wall, it is a nice place to explore the Great Wall around Beijing.
After the hike at the wall, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.

Booking Note: 1. Don't forget to bring water, sunscreen, sun-glasses, and cap etc.
2. On the Jinshanling Great Wall east section hike, you will meet lots of local peddlers who will pester you from the beginning to the end. Don't worry too much about the these farmer-turned vendors. Just treat them with respect and they will treat you the same. They can be quite helpful if you have any difficulty on the way. The local vendors make a living by selling bottled water, postcards, tourist books, T-shirts and souvenirs at higher prices. You are not obligated to buy from them but it can be hard to make them go away. If you don't want to buy anything, tipping is expected.
3. There is a cableway up to the east section of Jinshanling Great Wall. If you take a cable car up, you will skip over 5 watch towers. You are not advised to use the cable car since it is very slow and unnecessary. The fact is that it is very easy to walk up to the Great Wall.
