Wuhan Wuhan is the capital of Hubei Province. It is located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Hanshui rivers. The Yangtze River and its biggest tributary, HanshuiRiver, divide the city proper into three towns-Wuchang, Handkou and Hanyang. Covering an area of 8,467 square kilometers and with a population of 7.18 million, Wuhan is one of the largest inland cities in China.
It is a center of industry, finance, commerce, science, culture and education, and a hub of railways, waterways, highways, aviation, post and telecommunication of Central China.

Yellow Crane Tower
Standing on the south bank of the Yangtze River and high up on Snake Hill, YellowCraneTower is know as one of the “Three Famous Towers South of the Yangtze River”. (The other two are YueyangTower in Hunan and TengwangTower in Jiangxi)
The YellowCraneTower was first built in 223 A.D and was destroyed and rebuilt time and again throughout history. The whole compound consists of the main tower, side pavilions, corridors, memorial archways, corridors of tablets with poem inscriptions and business streets of ancient style. There are hundreds of poems and scores of writings in praise of the magnificent YellowCraneTower from past dynasties scholars. The legend about the tower has become a bright pearl of the Chinese literature. |
Gui Yuan Temple
Guiyuan Temple, first built in the 15th year of Shun Zhi in the Qing Dynasty(the year 1658), is one of the four biggest temples for Buddhist meditation in Hubei as well as an important Buddhist temple in China. GuiyuanTemple takes up an area of 46900sqm with a floor apace of 20000 sqm. There are more than 200 rooms within the temple compound and all round are luxuriant with green trees and bushes. |
East Lake
Located in the east suburb of Wuchang, it is a major tourist attraction in China. The lake covers 33 square kilometers and stretches far into the distance. With its bending lake banks and crisscrossing ponds and brooks, it is called a lake with 99 bends. The whole spot consists of six sections: Tingtao, Moshan, Luoyan, Baima, Luohong and Chudi. Scattering among them are attractions such as the Double-Moon Pavilion amidst the trees, the Tingtao Corridor by the lake, the Xingyin Tower at the water front, the Fish Watching Pavilion by the Blue Pond ,the Shuiyun Tower at the lakeside, the Qubo Embankment with dancing ripples, the Shimmering-Lake Pavilion, the Zhubei Pavilion amidst the pines, the Xiangtao Tower by the lake, the Yunyi Pavilion amidst the greenery and the Luojia Scholars’ Garden. |
