ItineraryDay 01: Downtown Beijing - Badaling - Juyongguan ( L D )Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 9:00am. Get to the Badaling Great Wall around 10:30am. Badaling is known for its imposing magnitude. The wall here averages 7.8 meters in height and has a width of 5.7 meters at the top and 6.5 meters at the base. The walkway on top is 4.5 meters wide, making it possible for five horses or ten soldiers to march abreast. It is one of the most gorgeous and magnificent part of the Great Wall in Beijing. Hike the east section of Badaling Great Wall for 2 hours. Cable car is optional.
Have lunch at Badaling Great Wall Hotel. The first floor is a huge shop selling various kinds of tourist stuff. The restaurant is on the second floor. The restaurant offers very good buffet lunch.
After lunch, drive to the Juyongguan Great Wall. Juyongguan Great Wall is site of an ancient military town which is replete with military installations, watch towers, official residences, temples and other structures. The Juyongguan Pass Great Wall is sectioned into two semicircles - east and west. You are arranged to have a 2-hour's hike across the west section of the Juyongguan Pass Great Wall. The Juyongguan part of the Great Wall for its beautiful views and challenging hike. No cable car is available at Juyongguan Great Wall.
Tonight stay at Juyongguan Hotel by the wall. This 4-star courtyard hotel is located in the inner city of the Juyongguan Pass - one of the most spectacular Great Wall passes in China. Dinner will be arranged at the restaurant of Juyingguan Hotel.
Day 02: Juyongguan Great Wall - Mutiuanyu Great Wall - Downtown Beijing ( B L )After breakfast at the hotel, take a walk in the inner city of Juyingguan Great Wall, taking fresh air and enjoying fantastic view of the wall in the quite morning. Then head to Mutianyu Great Wall. The drive takes about 1 and half hour. The Mutianyu Great Wall is also one of most beautiful sections of the Great Wall in Beijing. It has an extemely beautiful natural landscape once you are up on the wall, green, densely wooded. This section of the Great Wall is comparatively smoother and less crowded than most of other sections. Hike for 2-3 hours at Mutianyu Great Wall.
After the hike, come to a local restaurant called "Xinshuangquan" for a late lunch. It has a tranquil environment. The signature dishes mostly emphasize peasant food and offering a fresh taste.
After lunch, transferred back to your midtown hotel in Beijing.

2. The Badaling Great Wall is the well preserved Ming Dynasty Great Wall with original appearance. Now it is divided into two sections - east and west starting at the Badaling Pass and Gate. Most people prefer to climb the east section where the highest watch tower is located.
3. Junyongguan Great Wall is the only ancient Pass of the Great Wall in Beijing. The Great Wall around the Pass extends over 4 km snaking the ridge of the mountains forming the valley. The natural landscape surrounding the Pass is extremely beautiful.
4. The Juyongguan Pass Great Wall is sectioned into two semicircles - east and west. Most people prefer hiking on its west semicircle for its steepness and beautiful view. Each semicircle takes about 2-hour hike. So if you have time and energy, hiking both sections is a good choice.
5. You have three ways of hiking the Mutianyu Great Wall:
1) Walking up the Great Wall along the stone steps ( a mountain hike - 40 minute hike ) - to the 10th Watch Tower
2) Taking a cable car up to the Great Wall -to the 14th Watch Tower
3) Taking a chairlift to the Great Wall - to the 6th Watch Tower
6. There are 20 towers on the Mutianyu Great Wall snaking the ridge for about 3000 meters. The watch towers at the Mutianyu Great Wall are distributed at short intervals.
